Should be fun watching , around $2000 CA most likely. If it goes above $2300 CA it would be a nice surprise.

I have been following this coin since it came out. Made some inquiries with some dealers trying to find one and also what they would pay for one. The highest price I found for a dealer to buy was $1400 so if it sells in 2-2300 dollar range pretty good mark up for a dealer.

No bids? Blame it on coin collector "fatigue" It's an epidemic condition, widespread...apparently. Gotta get an immunization shot for it soon.

Quote: No bids? Blame it on coin collector "fatigue" No interest. The coin from the beginning wasn't appeal to collector, but the fans bought it. Now, when it collects dust at the shelves and displays, people moved to the new stuff. I am not sure, but think, tat similar to the numismatic products, the Superman related stuff have been pumped out continuously, so the fans do not need to look back to the coin, specially, when a lot of replicas available (non coins collectors do not care, imo, where the round was prodused).

CA Auction price was $1099 + $164.85 = $1263.85. Sold for below market price.

@MoneyPenney I saw that hammer price. I always advise caution when inferring trends from a single datapoint but this does not bode well for the NCLT market. We have gone from a fairly robust market to one where there are very few specific winners that increase in price over issue while the majority of issues float towards the bullion value. This coin has been buoyant for five years but for one to slip through at just over half of the current asking price... Either the buyer got the deal of the decade or this is an indication of accelerating weakness in the NCLT marketplace.

Quote: Sold for below market price. No. It sold for almost double market price. Here's a recent market priced coin 332784350811. The dream is over. The reality of NCLT collecting begins.

Quote: The reality of NCLT collecting begins. By focusing on collecting (vs. investing in) the RCM's commemorative silver dollars over the years (a relatively inexpensive NCLT series), my "reality" has been the same for many years. Plus, I've received the added bonus of learning about many facets of Canadian history along the way! Rather than abandoning the collecting of NCLT due to a depressed market, I would suggest collectors choose a defined area among the RCM's many offerings and just remain focused on it. Pre-determine an annual budget and stick to it. Don't get distracted by the latest RCM "shiny" and don't chase the next potential "hot" release with visions of quick profits dancing in your head. You'll find such an approach is ultimately less stressful and, in the end, more rewarding. You may also find that if you spend more time learning about the back-story of the coins you collect vs. worrying about their current market value, you'll likely enjoy your collection more. Just my opinion, your experience may differ!

Got it @DBM The $700 coin on your link is the only one sold at that price level (except for the $85 counterfeit) The rest ranged from $1,500 - $1,700 however most of the "for sale" items are still at the $2K+ level. If you exempt the $700 sale as an outlier/anomaly, the CA Auction was still below ebay market but not as far below. Colonial Acres have it for $2,200 list but on sale for $1,650 with one in stock. CC&C have stock $2,500.
