I'm in Alberta, how could I get a roll at face value? I'm in a small town with 4 banks. One is the Royal bank.

@pocket change 50, well in order to get a roll you can hope one of your banks get the 2$ commemorative coins. But if you go to a Mint exchange, I guess who can act a bit and hope they will let you have an entire roll.

I believe, the card will be available for $1-$3 somewhere and these money doesn't worth standing somewhere in the line.
But can someone please explain me, what heppens with the rims of new circulation toonies, specially commemorative. Why the are looks so bad? Its really looks like low-quality fake...

I heard there were 2 hour queue in New Westminster on Oct 5th but I did not go. I went to Oakridge Mall yesterday around 1:30pm and no queue at all. Coin folder came free with each $2 exchanged. Max 5 folders + 5 x $2 coins per person. Coin folders are only available during Coin Exchange, not available on RCM website nor RCM Boutique counter. It is true that rim of new $2 coin looks like poor quality job.

Thanks justsilver for posting the pics, I do like this coin. Now I'll be impatient to get mine from the mint. I find these Commemerative circulation coins a good way for me and my son to make saving money fun. The interest rates are so dismal, that having an emergency saving funds in these Commemeratives makes it fun and easy. It's a fun way to teach youth about saving money, as it's a history lesson and something fun to look at and hold. Also with some luck it may turn into a collecting hobby. I see many positives to these Commemerative coinage. Prior to 1999, there were so few Commerative circulation coins. I can only recall some nickel dollars and 1973 quarter. I think this is a great move by the mint. Hopefully it will get more people into the hobby!

I asked my children today to bring $2 coins & folders to their elementary teachers & Principal as gifts. School staffs were surprised and happy. One teacher really wanted these but was unable to attend RCM event on last Saturday is "extremely" happy. lol.

School staffs were surprised and happy. Sounds cool, thanks for idea. Did the kids sign the card? Isn't it kind of "money" gift (although it only $2) ?

@ CC-Ottawa:
Thanks for posting the video CC!
Seeing the boy all grown up, now as an 80 year old Grand Dad, makes this all become that much more real.
These are memorable coins of significance.
