These three big scores happened all at the same bank, oddly enough.

My first big score there was on 2/23/11. I found 29 silver halves; these included seven 40% Kennedys, a single 1964 Kennedy, and an astonishing 21 Franklins.

The next month, on 3/22/11, I found 37 silver halves. These included six 40% Kennedys, two 1964 Kennedys, and a whopping 29 Franklins of mixed dates. Funnily enough, the only bills I had on hand to buy the coins with were 36 ratty $1 silver certificates I found at another bank. So I technically redeemed them for silver in the 21st century.

Finally, on 9/1/11, I went to that bank and hit the mother lode. I bought $2.50 in silver halves (three Walkers and two Franklins), and $15.75 in silver dimes and quarters. The tellers knew I looked for old coins so they set aside the dimes and quarters in wax paper bags. Most of the dimes were silver Roosevelts, and most of the quarters were silver Washingtons. However, the real treats were finding an 1899 Barber dime and an 1893 Barber quarter in the bunch.

I've since dropped off actively hunting, but I'll never forget these three scores.

My story won't hold a candle to everybody else's but 2 weeks ago at work (work as a bank teller) I found a 1910 Liberty 'V' Nickel in a Loomis roll!
2 rolls later I found 2 Buffalo nickels!
A couple hours later I ended up finding a 1947 Silver Dime.
Was probably the best coin day I've ever had :)
Today I've only found one Silver Dime '1964'
Silver is Silver :)

Once I walked into one branch of the "big Bank" here in Canada, and asked if they had any silver dollars or fifty cent pieces (both have been out of circulation for years), and low and behold I was told there was 51 dollars worth.

most were nickel, however I did get 1 actual silver dollar, as well as 3 silver 50 cent pieces.

after this score, I went to a different bank, and got 3 more silver 50 cents, I don't think I will ever see a day like that again.

Mine probably isn't super great but I found an AU-55 1939 Jefferson nickel when I was 6 (around 11/20/07), and my dad looked at it and was in shock, so that was fun.

My best box of halves had:

1, 1910 Barber
1, 1942 Walker
1, 1943 Walker
1, 1964 Kennedy
and a couple 40%-ers

If only it had a Franklin it would have been the holy grail of boxes for me!

I cannot find any decent half boxes, and definitely no CWRs f halves in my area anymore due to overhunting by others. I'm simply thankful I was able to enjoy a couple months w/o competition for halves.

I've since switched to nickels. My best $100 bag so far yielded 4 wars.

The one that sticks out is a 1926-S Lincoln in VF condition.

A few years ago, I found a zincoln and swapped it for a quarter-eagle.

For those of you that don't want to go to the link. I found an unplated 2011 Lincoln Cent and traded it for the 2.5 dollar gold piece.
