I just finished talking to my Rep, I was told the moose & wolf were commissioned by someone in Germany. This why they only have a small portion to sell and have strict limits. I find this very interesting, it seems they've been doing a lot of commissioned coins the past year. I forgot to add Canada Post commissioned the hockey coins. I've noticed that CP commissioned coins or commissioned coins tend not to do well in after market, when looking at sold prices on ebay. I always wondered why there was yearly hockey coin offerings.

Probably, dealers realized the potential of the commissioned item. Just actively participate on the forum like this for half a year, and you will know , what majority of collectors want to see on the coin. Well, not all the dealers can allow to themselves this. And our animals will go well in Europe due to the some similarity in the fauna.

Just notice on the mint website that they say the ag Wolf is "A premium version of the Royal Canadian Mint's 99.99% pure silver bullion coin". http://www.mint.ca/store/coins/1-oz....VDLKm4ZzaM8I like the design but I think I'll just wait for the bullion coin at 25% of the cost. Clearly the proof finish, much lower mintage and colour are nicer but I can't justify the premium. Just another practice I wish the Mint would stop. It seems lazy and predatory to create a proof collector coin and a bullion coin (clearly meant to be semi-numismatic) using the same design.

The colour over proof coin? In this specific case I find "the wolf" not interesting at all. But if they'll issue normal proof for 79, will prefer it - the design is good, or may be it will be 1.5oz - so the bullion will be enough.

The wolf coin is commissioned by someone in Germany, so the mint only has a low amount to sell. I barely got 3 through my Rep, who had to open another account for me. I'm wondering what bullion coin they're referring to. This Wolf is very different from 2006/2011 bullion design. I really like it. I collect Wolf themed coins.

I think, because there is a limit of 2, that he had to open a 2nd account to allow him to purchase the third coin.

Interesting also "what for to buy 3 of these"?
I don't think, that these will be popular at all.
But as "wolf" collector, wait for the 3-headed Cerberus, that attached to the Hades. Although it more likely dog, but could be wolf too....

I had 2 US friends that wanted them. Yes a second account was opened so I could bypass the limit. I don't know how this will be managed. This is sort of scary, I like to be the one making accounts, not someone else on my behalf. The mint is still messing up. Due to sending me 6 coins I never ordered, they maxed out the credit card I use for coin purchases. This has led to coins I really wanted being cancelled. This is where having a Rep to sort things out could be helpful.

@ Pocket Change:
Thanks for the clarification.
I hope your rep is really going to work on your behalf.
Anyway, if you become dissatisfied you can just order from the mint's site on your own.. That's what I do.

@ adambur, as I've stated previously the bulk of these coins are going to Germany as they were commissioned by a private person. So a very limited amount is being sold in Canada. This is what everyone seems to miss. The coin is meant for the European market and not North America. The same applies to the Moose coin. I've ordered 2 of them, as I like the look of them. I really enjoy the color and engraved animal coins. Animals are a huge collecting theme for me. Another theme I'm starting is collecting nice looking horse coins.
Adambur, I'd suggest approaching a MC member to order 1 for you. They can have the mint ship it to you for free and tracked. This is what I'm doing for my 2 US friends.

Missed appearence of the coins on the RCM website for the public. Yesterday morning, or today.... But after success of the Perth 2oz coin (with questionable design), need to think, that beautiful RCM 2oz coin will go same path - quick sellout and raising prices ob the secondary market. New Superman maybe?
