Normally a coin with a pattern like that would be called a "woodie" (wood grain appearance). That caused an incomplete metal alloy mix when the original strip is made.
But for a coin dated 1980 I'm not so sure. It would be very much the exception.
Yeah stacker, pre 82 copper lincoln cents were mixed with small amounts of zinc and tin, and showed up like this when the mix was bad and the copper would tone faster than the other metals.
I see more then a few 1980 woodies and this is a nicer one that might hold a small premium. If the reverse looks as good, even a bit more of a premium to the right collector. John1
