Well I have to say.. that today..... (wait for it)... was a REALLY good day!!

As a teacher I'm the one in charge of, and organizing the school track and field day. Most of the kids seem pretty excited about the day, and why not right! Can you remember track and field days when you were a kid? The whole day off school and being able to run and jump and throw. It's just awesome! So I've got almost all the big plans sorted out and now just have to work on a few minor details.

Also at school another student came to me to show me some coins. That always just makes me happy... as it says... "hey I know you like these and I want to share what I have" I had a look and there were some nice world coins. About 5-6 of them. She really didn't know much about them or where they were from, she just said that someone in her family gave them to her. So I told her where each coin was from and what was on each reverse and why that image may have meaning to each particular country. She really seemed to like that and thought that was cool. So tonight I've put aside some 2x2's for her to put her coins in and I've picked out a few more world and Canadian coins so that she'll have a couple album sheets of coins with a binder and on the inside of the binder I've already itemized the coins in the binder to show how she can organize her collection.

Finally and probably most importantly... My 4 yr old son just started to play tots soccer! Today was his first game and I couldn't have been more proud of him out there. Many of you may know that I already am a wrestling coach. And I have been involved in coaching many sports including football, x-country skiing, swimming, and blind sports. Most of my coaching has been at the high school to university level. A few weeks ago my wife unknowingly volun-told me to be the tots soccer coach. And I can honestly say it was the most fun I have had in a LONG time! It was great seeing all the kids have such a good time, being active and just playing. I thought I would have a hard time with it, as I'm very much into strategy, technique and competition. But when surrounded by 11 other 4 year olds that are just happy to be outside and playing and it didn't matter what you did they were having fun.. I seriously found such joy in the moment.

I only wish that all of you could feel the same joy in my heart! Today really was... a REALLY really good day!

Yep .. I remember those days well. Volunteering always makes the heart feel better. Good on you for your youth efforts.

Today was numismatically a really good day...

Started with a walk to the mailbox and I was excited to see this months edition of the RCNA journal.... Featured on the front highlighted an article about fur trader tokens ... (I personally love anything HBC related so that had me pretty excited)

Soon afterwards xpresspost was at my door with these two beauties... (I hate trying to photograph copper through plastic)

Then I went to the mint and picked up a few "lucky loonies"

Here's one but I can't figure out what happened to the obverse... these are straight from the mint but it looked like it's worn...

Then I also received these two beauts in change at different locations while running errands.

Didn't have this one yet.. so good find!

This was also a treat to find... nice little radar.. but a little beaten up for my liking... so unless someone else wants it.. I'll return it out to the wild by next week.

Today really was a good day!

So I figured I would give this old thread a "bump" only because today was a REALLY REALLY bad day!

Woke up this morning to find my car had been broken into.... The thing that ticked me off was in my rush to get the kids in the door, fed a snack and starting on dinner, I had left my wallet in the car...

So all this morning was spent trying to phone the credit card companies and banks and everything else I could think of where I had a card.......

The reason I post this.... if you have the ability.... take a photo of your wallet or purse and all of its contents individually.... it will help you soooo much in the event that your purse or wallet is ever lost or stolen....

Tomorrow WILL be a good day! Cheers!

Sorry to hear of your break-in. Make sure you don't leave anything in your car from now on as there is a high probability that "they" will revisit your car again as they had success the first time. Don't forget about the other cards like MB health, birth certificate, written pass codes ( if you do that)

Tee. Also in the Peg.
