"Hello all you hockey fans out there..."

I'm pretty sure that this coin is going to look much better than the image posted. The black and red enamel will be very striking.

For those of you who don't follow Canada's national sport (I know there are only a handful of you out there ), the coin's design replicates the official logo of Team Canada and in on the jerseys for international tournaments except the Olympics.

Check it all out here: http://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/

P.S. I have put my money where my mouth is and have ordered one.

I like it. I ordered one too. The design is plain but exactly what it should be - Canada's hockey symbol known around the world and shows the little mark for 100 years. I agree, I think it will look amazing in hand.

It's exactly what the mint described it to be - hockey Canada's logo - and if you are a fan of the logo - you likely have the jersey equivalent then you might be enticed-
I was hoping for a something more creative with the logo included...
Regardless, it will likely look sharp in hand given that enamel was used here...

Agreed Moose. I'm glad they went with the traditional HC logo.

Though I would have preferred that they had coloured the 'Canada' in red or white as it's supposed to be.

I do like the colors on hockey coin. It may grow on me. My only critisim is the mint is relying too heavy on the use of these cardboard boxes. The bad thing about the box is the coin can't be tilted for display, it just lay there! Iook forward when pics will be posted of in hand coin!!

@ Silveroid the lynx set is gorgeous, I've been watching ebay for a long time to get a reasonable priced one. The prices are all over the place : )150-$225. I appreciate you posting pics it's got me salivating !! I will have to think about the new lynx coin, once I see image.
I use my iPhone all the time. It's so convenient given my hip and back issues, I can't sit long at a desk. The camera is very good with the HD function. I don't use my other camera since getting my iPhone. It's replace my computer & camera. Less electronics to buy and store. However, it's a nightmare when not backed up.
Last week mine took a dip in my tea, it didn't work for 2 days! I was in full panic mode, as nothing was backed up. I couldn't remember many important ph numbers and treasured photos were on it!! After 2 days sitting in a bucket of rice, it resumed working!

Will absolutelly agree with Electrum.
That what exactly this coin supposed to be - simple, but bold design, no gimmicks.

Just bit on the fence about purchase:
**From one side its true Canadian memorabilia, unlike all the lame (IMO) teams coins this is the milestone.

**From other side: this is just merchandise item, which have relation to the real Hockey as the Eiffel Tower key-chain relates to Paris.
When I was the kid, I just liked to play....this is the "core", and all the stuff around - didn't care.

I really like the half kilo horses, I'm going to save for this one, hopefully I can find a discount on it. I guess I'll need to sell a bunch of coins to afford this beauty. I also like the kilo lunar horse, as it's a pinto. Saw it live on coin show and very impressed, but it's out of my budget!!
I'm also interest in 2 Oz train, very nice design, I collect train themed coins. Lastly the high relief Lynx coin. I will be looking for these 3 coins at a discount.

Colonial Acres big sale....

So here we can see what NCLT really worth.

The GITD set isn't hot anymore:

$169.95 for all 4, means near $70 for the 1-st coin?

Not much that is truly discounted in that sale. Of note was the 4 venetian glass coins, including the LB, for $1,229.95 but it was sold out before 2PM (when the sale was suppose to start).

Most of the other items bundle one 'good' coin with one or more undesirable coins and still the discounts are only in the 10-20% range. Sorry but that is not enough in today's market.

I kind of chuckled at the spent over $1000 and get some free C/A branded clothing...sized medium.

Lower mintage and UHR will be the factors, that will not allow it to drop under $120.

But, I had to order....who knows how it will go. And I do not want be disappointed by not getting one.
