Very nice, SilverDon

The content of the second O Canada box reminds mine.
When (if) will be massive discounts, look for 2014 Maple Leaf Forever $10 coin - it fits perfect with 2011, 2012, 2013

Thanks very much Strach-Man,
and welcome to the forum.

Thanks Silveroid, can you recommend a site for airtites
for the different bullion coins that are not 38 mm.

I have a hard time with the ASE, Libertad, and
Britannia, and the 1.5 ounce I received one in an
airtite, but the other I have in a quadrum and it
is loose.

I have a bit of an addiction to $10 1/2 ounce fine
silver coins.

Yes I have my eye out for the 2014 Maple Leaf, the 2011
was one of the first nclt coins I bought.

For all, except the capsules for 1.5oz it airtite.com. They have reasonable shipping charge to Canada. For 1.5oz look at Aurinum.de , or search in ebay German dealer, that has wooden boxes for amlist all, he has the capsules too.

And 2011 Maple Leaf Forever was among my first NCLT (silver) too. Being noobie, I felt, that I will loose less buying $10 for $30, rather $20 silver coin for $70 .....

@pocket change 50

yea I am really pulling back here, narrowing down my focus and even on what I like just passing and waiting, I mean I have to see a mark down to make a purchase..

As an example, I wanted the silver maple leaf ANA Chicago privy mark, I had to have that coin. Best price I had seen was about 78 USD at retail from a dealer, and other prices were around there or even more.

WELL, I stalk ebay every single day, I won an auction for a slabbed graded 69 one for 58 bucks... a nonslabbed would have cost me 78 bucks USD.... granted its a 69, not a 70 but I dont care about grades on coins. I just like the coin.

So like you, I want value, I dont necessarily want things crazy cheap, but I do want value and I want to pick up the coins for their fair market value...

The SOmalian elephant coins have been hard to resist and I have been adding the 2015 issues tomy collection. What I do is get one of each, tho this has changed a bit, you could get the gilded and colored elephants besides the plain bullion version; I been getting the colored now as the night and day set, the gilded and now there are several variants of the somalian elephants.

I feel this is a great time to collect this series as the prices on back dated coins, like all other coins have been impacted as PM's prices remain depressed.. great auctions are now to be had!

I am a big time sort of sucker for coins with elephants, rhinos, etc. So I have been actively adding and looking for coins in this series and others, looking for deals. Right now you can pick up a somalian 2015 coin for around 23 USD, gilded are now going for 31-41, there is the Benin series that started, IF you missed that one, you can get the first issue for LESS than its original offer price, think like almost 25-30 dollars LESS,, and the 2014 Benin started at only mintage of 5K..

this is an exciting time to collect, deals to be had.

which reminds me, I should go look for FIFA coins too now, I watched all the FIFA games and bought several FIFA silver coins to remember such a great time I had watching the games!

I'll have to check the auctions on those, especially the red enamel coin,,, I was stalking those on ebay. they have had a set PF 70 if memory serves me right, for auction.

Would you say sales have slowed because of the lower prices we saw in PMs or just a change in peoples interest in coins?

I certainty hope the hip surgery goes well for u! Is that then planned for first of next month?

@yup7676:

Be careful with the amount of the coins.
They become cheaper, but together with this, you buying more.
And at the end will spend the same amount of money, like someone, who buys the few coins for issue price for RCM.

And it will not be meter how huge your collection, you will take out of your pocket the money, that could save for something else.
Don't you you want to have a big collection of coins, that lost their value, right?

@Silveroid

Well, for this year, I have only bought one RCM coin lol, have another one on the way but thats it. In fact, since the tail end of last year, I have slowly been collecting less.

About the only thing I have bought for this year was somalian elephants, I got a few FIFA coins, some other african ounces coins but thats about it... oh and a few Russian coins, so I have really cut down my focus.

right now theres only a handful of older RCM coins I want, the main three being Lake Michigan coin, the Family Bison one and the Piedfort.. outside of that, nothing else really has my eye, UNLESS those duck coins fall even more.

I mean I have really trimmed my collecting tho as prices have tanked...

More or less related to the Nov release:

Guys, I will have the following:

2015 Maple Leaf 1oz coin from the Fractional set (Enameled)
2014 Maple Leaf 1oz coin from the Fractional set (Guilded)

Both of the coins slabbed and graded NGC PF69, the 2015 also marked as "Early Releases".

Does someone will be interested to trade his /her same, but un-graded coins in the original RCM capsule? Send me PM....

Well, I recently got them...

The true beauty for "Serious Collectors", "Serious Investors"
Since I understand, that I do not belong to these groups, I already wanted to crack their perfect slabs, but then I thought about you, who definetevly smarter than me.

No, these are not for sale, but for trade.
And I wish to get the same perfect coins but in their original round capsules. (They looks so solid together ....really as a set).

Enjoy:

Lol I think your being silly, but I have a question.

Why didnt you buy them from the Mint or a Dealer where they would have come with clam shell etc etc or was this an after thought once they were sold out.

The explain is very simple:
When after 2013 the fractional Maple Leaf sets started to be issued every year, I decided that will not buy them, because the idea totally stopped to be "special", but I do love designs.
I wanted the coins, but wasn't interested to pay $220-$250 for each set, and then to have all the coins in bulky standard box. So, decided to buy only 1oz coins (that work out great with 2015 set, since 1oz is unique).
But believe me, no one was interested to sell just 1 coin.
The solution was - to buy the graded. They cost me 1/2 of the price of all set, which I find acceptable price. And for these, graded, the prices slowly crawl up....
