cwd-this is my second one. I have all of the top 100 in a binder and really try to keep up with what I have, but at the moment I can't put my hands on the first one. Not good for me, I will end up going through a few thousand coins looking for it.

I've done that before, it sucks, but on the plus side you might find some other things you didn't even realize you had!

Nice close-up shots. What kind of set up are you using to take these?
I don't want to hijack the thread with an in-depth discussion of this: just a brief FYI would do.

mp-here is my setup; AmScope and Canon T1i, eos live view. I bought the scope a couple of years ago to search coins and shoot pics. I was never able to get any decent pics until the last few weeks, go figure. The scope is essential for me with my bad eyes for searching and identifying rpm's, etc.

You might try a sheet of white paper and fold it into 1/3rds and make it stand between your light and coin to reduce the glare. You might even try a thinner paper if it reduces too much light or add a second sheet if there is still too much light?

The first close-up picture of the 'S' of the 1930-S is interesting.
I looks like something laying on the field is beneath the large S with a smaller s on the very top of the large S.
How should one break down the sequence of how that strike(s) occurred?
