Hi again.
Here's a coin that has been puzzling me for awhile.
I doubt you folks will have any trouble what so ever.
I am thinking of putting this on ebay so I could do with an answer.
Many thanks to you all.

Wish I could read the four letters on the right side reverse, the only letters I can make out are ISROKAICA on the left.

I first thought Temnos as well, or Kyme, but the reverse legend doesn't fit.

I think the rev. legend starts out with IEPOKACIA....which gives quite a few coins in a search, but not this one. My guess is the last letters are PEΩN.

I can't get wildwinds to work to look at a partial word search.

It's a challenging one.

I thought this may be a bit of a puzzle.
The 1st couple of letters on the other side are:
PE, then maybe an Omega, and then a possible A.
Looking at the link given earlier by 'Doucet' shows the coin that I found originally. That seems the closest match but I am not convinced.
Oh well.
Any more offers of info ple ASE

I guess the second letter is an E and not and S, but isn't P read as R in Greek? So that would make it IEROKACIA REON? It's all Greek to me.

It seems to me most likely, then, that it's from Hierocaesarea, Lydia. I'm thinking the one on the Wildwinds page labelled "BMC 21", near the top of the page, is a nice match.

Definitely 'Sap', good detecting

While the first part on the obverse of the picture in the op is very difficult to decipher, the "...ICARE.." on the right is quite clear.

Hi all.
Thanks for all your help on this one. I think SAP is correct. Well done that man!
Now on to my next one. I will start a new thread for this new one.
