I do agree with his philosophy.

Last night I got at Dairy Queen a 1964 Jefferson nickel and 1993 Penny. The Penny wouldn't be weird exept that it looked like it came straight from the Mint, and the night before I got a 2001 from Wal Mart that looked like it was used to support someones Mac Truck.

Speedway, as in Indianapolis or elsewhere? Oh, I'll bet you mean a gas station?

Aha! That's how it works. If you need to find a particular coin in circulation, go and buy it first, then you're sure to find lots of 'em soon! Which reminds me, I washed my truck today for the first time in about a year in the hopes of ending our drought...I don't hold out much hope though!

I don't know about that! Every time I wash my truck it rains within 24 hours but in Indiana the weather changes every 15 minutes so nothing surprises us!

Got my new 2006 silver eagles today. I CIRCULATED to my coin shop and there they were!!!

Terry:

I checked the U.S. Mint site, and didn't see 2006 SE.

Did you get yours from a dealer?

Do you know when they will be available from the mint?

All I buy is the unc. Eagles as the proofs are too pricey for me! My dealer has them currently at $11.00 but that will change if silver goes up and it looks like it will. If you need some let me know and I will pick them up for you. I can send them all together with the Knights of the Coin Table wooden dollars which are only a week away!!! (If the schedule is kept!) Let me know as I don't have a clue when the proof eagles will go on sale at the mint. I figured a few years back, according to silver prices at the time, I could almost buy 3 unc.s compared to one proof (now its two) but I am in it only for the silver and must admit I do like the design!!!

Thanks Terry. I'll let you know about the SE's. I only buy one proof each year. My unc. collection is complete, so usually buy at least one for the collection, as well as a few others to keep, and eventually give to Grandkids.

BTW, the 2 Euro coin is very nice. Thanks.

Wish I had the money to explore U.S., Aussie, and Euro coinage.

Yes, it is awful having to plot and plan every move on a budget!!! Have to go to the post office this morning to pick up another package of Euro commemoratives from Greece. Kind of strange as there probably WON'T be any Greek euro coins in the package as they are very expensive! The collectors over there manage to pick up coins for me in all the surrounding countries where they are more affordable! Will have to keep you posted on the goodies in this package!

Aside from the usual wheaties, nothing special there, I found a Jamaican ten cent piece and a silver Canadian quarter from 1943. "Moose Money" my co-worker calls it...

Coppercoins, that is so cool, I am so envious! Fivaz Stanton #1c-025.8. I've looked at lotsa 63 D's and never found it! Doesn't command a huge premium according to Fivaz/Stanton, (well, does have a huge premium above one cent, but not a huge dollar value) but such a neat find, just shows that cherrypicking can be so productive from circulation stuff. They mention that the earlier die state shows the lower leg of the weak 3 below the primary 3; yours certainly has that! Congrats!
