Congrats, Justsilver, for confirmed "Ammonite" shipped. And thanks for pictures on other site. I am not the fan of "innovations", but this one very elegant and no colorization...

Thanks, Silveroid.
As I mentioned in another coin forum.
The image of Ammonite Silver Coin that I posted was not mine. I do not have them yet.
Image was from Alex in Silverstackers Forum.
It is a great looking coin for collection from CIT with mintage 999 pcs and first coin in new serie ( evolution of life ).
I am lucky that I bought with issue price.

So, it assumed that people with Asian roots first identified potential of the great coin and already have it "in hand".
No surprise, if after 2 years it will win COTY in one of the categories and will add at least couple of hundreds $$ to its value like "Gulo gulo" in the past and "Southern Crux" by RAM.

In addition, I like die cast cars, and this one reminds me cheap plastic suff like Star Trek transporter...it also illuminated.

I think these will be cheap plastic cars as you say, and ya those transporters seemed very "cheaply Made" but what isn't these days, everything is made in china as cheaply as possible to maximum profits. Sad but true but it is the way of the world now. low quality plastic throwaway junk.

Do collectors believe these cheap plastic packaging add value or desirability to these pop culture coins. Or would a classic cherry wood case be a better option. please share you're thoughts. My preference is for a nice classic dark wood display. Plastic cases cheapen the look of a displayed coin for me. Does the type of display case even matter Please share your opinions.

Would agree with both of you, Pocket Change and Northerncoins. But was happens, among the collectors these type of coins attract people, who has some "touch" to the subject, and has $100 to spend on it. But majority of collectors, buy this stuff to resell to non-collectors, but fans. (Non collectors have no idea about where from coins coming, really). So, as shows the market, when the item is hot, people ready to jump on it, without knowing about issue price, and ready to pay.

I'm starting to wonder if mints are realizing nclt coins are having a shrinking audience. This would explain why they are minting so many pop culture themes, and relying on such gimmicky cheap cases! Its their attempt to appeal to the non coin collector, and hook the pop culture collector. I say this due to the RCM having a booth at the Canadian comic con the past 2 years. I understand the NZ mint creating all sorts of non Aussie themed coins, because they are a private mint as opposed to a government mint. Since 2014 the RCM seems to be following suit, they didn't need to issue 2 more rounds of Superman coins.Where 2013 was a 75th anniversary and was commemorative. The following 2014 & 2015 releases were meaningless, as are the Looney Tune releases. I hope the prediction of 1 member isn't fulfilled, namely the RCM becoming another Franklin mint. It also bothers me having TV commercials for non Canadian coins. The mint really needs to back to its roots, when it was truly an outstanding Canadian mint!!
