Medieval Pillar of the Community 3772 Posts	Posted 12/01/2014 10:28 pm Very worn ancient coins, mostly likely Greek but could be Roman as well. Needs a better picture - no need for a large frame around - but even then it might be difficult to properly attribute. Report this Post to the Staff

With the S C in the field it is most likely a Roman coin. Please post the diameter and if possible weight. Hope a moderator moves it to the ancient forum, there are a few who might identify the reverse type easily. Seems to be a standing female figure holding something like a cornucopia or flowers. chuy1530 Pillar of the Community United States 513 Posts	Posted 12/02/2014 01:07 am If I had to hazard a guess I'd say it could be Augustus or Tiberius, probably a provincial, somewhat similar to provincials from Spain but I may only think that because I've stared at a lot of them lately trying to ID my own coins.
