Everything is possible, but I do not see, that this colorization adds value to the design. Regular proof is better looking, IMO. And has same mintage.

Ya plus as it stands right now the BU SD has 15k mintage which is less then the Proof and the Colored at 20k each.

Unless the RCM puts out more BU SD later on in the year in a set or something, then the BU might be the best one to get lol, who knows ... BU mintages should be more then the proof mintages, I guess the RCM is trying something new this year.

The maximum mintage for the annual BU commemorative dollar is always set lower than that for the Proof coin. The proof version is more popular with collectors and so has historically had a higher mintage to support higher sales.

Oh I see, never paid much attention to Canadian SDs but in the Bullion and rounds world, Proofs where always lower mintages then the BUs. I assumed its the same with all coins, I guess never assume anything...it makes a you know what out of you and me lol , as they say.

So it begins. I wonder what these single Color Flag SD will end up at, seeing the mintage is 20k which is low for these type of sets, I see the 2005 set had a mintage of over 60k and you can buy them for around $100

I'm not sure I see the comparison. Unlike the 2015 set, the 2005 was (mostly) sterling silver and the flag dollar was gilded not coloured. I also don't see that mintage for the set is low. Isn't 20k the standard mintage for the pure silver sets that have been issued for the past few years?

On the other hand, the 2005 SP Ed enamel flag was very low mintage at just under 5k and issued at $100 plus tax. They are relatively hard to find and usually sell for over $200.

Personally, I think the 2005 coloured flag looks better than the 2015 with 1/4th the mintage. Over time, it should be more desirable. That said, I would like to have the 2015 set and my resolve not to ordered it may crack yet.

And now for something completely different. I received a shipping notification e-mail today from the mint complete with a valid tracking number. That's the first time their system has worked in about 4 years.

must be something new... I too received a 'shipping notice' this morning. The 'link' doesn't work, but the tracking number was accurate when manually going to Canadapost.ca (tracking site).

Yeah, me too. Some improvement, maybe in 2016 the tracking links will work.

You're probably right. I waited a long time to get the 2005 and paid too much for it.

But I'll wait until the dealers start selling the 2015 set so I can at least get a small discount.

Thanks for the support of my addiction.

I may just order the BU version 2015 SD, as a nice set with the Proof.
My sense is that this will be different than those of 2012
that were discounted after sale, I bought the 2012 BU for $25 from CA.
(mintage of 2012 BU was 25,000) Not sure that you will be able to
get that deal with the 2015 in limited mintage. These may be snapped up.

Let's hope...not only the 2012. I see (still) discounted 2011 and 2013 SDs as well.

It is a very, very rare NCLT that is not discounted within a year or two of release these days.

Agree Silveroid, good bargains on those, mintage was 40,000 for Proof
I bought the 2012 Proof from the Mint $59.95, spent too much. On sale now.

Agree kuh_85, I like sniping a deal or two on NCLT a few years old.
This one has a different look to me, almost a sellout by design.
