I know that these coins are quite common but I had to show it to you because of the hilarious off centre strike.
Most of the counterfeits are of a similar standard with known details anomalies and always underweight.
This is also underweight but the strike is quite funny to me, I also noticed that they didn't seem to have a 1 for the date and used a J instead.

As beer was safer than water back then I am thinking this was made after lunch

That's cool! Thanks for sharing. I have no idea why they used a J instead of a 1 in the date. Too funny!

The "J" is just how they made a 1. Not an indication of counterfeit.

So they actually managed to get that bit right
To think that it might actually have circulated looking like this is funny to me, then again from what I have read it was estimated that the majority of these coins in circulation were counterfeit, apparently the poor didn't need coins.
I have not been able to match it to the known examples documented yet, although there are several with a similar off centre strike but nothing with so much of GEORGIVS missing.
More research later.

Common 1775 Young Head Family Type - O/C no extra value - most common year for the CC English halfpence. Non-Simian reverse style - IMO.
