Joining the game late...looks like it could be Elymaean, Medieval...I'll guess Phraates.

Well, only one other Elymaean ruler issued left-facing tiara-type drachms (at least according to Van't Haaff), which I'm thinking this may be. I'll leave it to someone else to name him.

Left facing are a few but re tiara you seem to be right.
Come on, name him - want to see you post a ruler.

We'll, I'm thinking Orodes III. If correct, though, I'll have to bounce it back to you (or whoever wants to take it) since I don't currently have access to my coin pics...

There is some confusion about the numbering, GIC#5892 states him as Orodes I and says that he was the father of Phraates (how does that fact sync with your documentation?), have seen other references linking the coin to Orodes II. Here is the coin:

Will have to take a few minutes to decide which ruler to post next - if no-one else wants to jump in that is.

Yeah, Elymaean attributions are a moving target. Van't Haaff, who I believe provides the latest research, has this down as Orodes III.

The time periods assigned to each of the rulers are also pretty much in flux. Does Van't Haaff count the preceding Parthian overlords in his numbering scheme?

Okay, since no-one else is jumping in, here a not too difficult one (sorry for the glaring, quickly scanned it in just now):

Well, Van't Haaff lists the period of c.25 BC - AD 228 as the Elymais Arsacid Dynasty, during which time members of the Parthian royal family ruled Elymais. Of course Orodes III was, as his name suggests, part of this family. Van't Haaff refers to the first round of Arcacid rulers in Elymais, from the late 1st century BC through the early 2nd century AD, as the "Early Uncertain Arsacid Kings" since their specific names and numbers are unknown. They are included among his 10.1 - 10.4 citations.

Wow, Medieval...my first thought with regard to your latest pic is Spock. But given that this is an ancients thread, and Spock hasn't even been born yet, I would imagine I'm probably wrong...not to mention that coins are apparently not going to be used in the 23rd century...

Earlier than all of your three () guesses - pretty sure though that 'Bob L' was aware of his.
