I cant figure out this coin because the monogram isn't enough information for me to have any clue where to start. The back is pretty smooth, with a counterstamp. I am not sure if this was a coin where the back was purposefully worn down, and then added the mark- or if these were made like this.

One side bears the monogram of Frederik VIII of Denmark, ruling 1906-12. What's the diameter?
It appears to be a Danish coin, possibly the 5 Øre, defaced on one side and punched "V".
Perhaps it was defaced to be used as a token that couldn't be used as money? Just a guess.

Compare to this 5 Øre from 1907...

That appears to be correct. I don't have anything to measure at the moment. Wish I knew what the counterstamp was for.
