When you put together a collection of coins of such low value that the 2x2 holders you preserve them in are worth more.

When you never use change for transactions, your Christmas list has numismatic items, you scan the till at work for anything worthy of a swap, and you pester your relatives and friends to go through their change jars every time you see them.

When you pick up random LMCs on the floor of a gas station where you stopped to use the bathroom before the long drive home from the LCS....

What--doesn't everyone do that?

After spending 8 months tossing all your end-of-the-day pocket change into a used gallon milk jug and filling it to the brim, you then spend several weeks of quality evening and weekend time examining every single coin before taking the jug to the bank.

You have ebay downloaded on your phone and tablet. You're signed it to ebay on the work computer and home computer.

Or, when your brother asks you how you're doing, and you say "fine". He then asks "fine12 or fine15?"

Seems like I've rubbed off some coin addiction on him.

When you would prefer to walk 2 miles in torrential rain rather than pay the bus fare with the collectable coins in your pocket.

I hope you are using gloves...you wouldn't want to leave finger prints when you pick them up.

...you put a $5 bill into the change maker that is supposed to be used for the vending machines at the cafeteria and then make sure to spend the left overs at every meal. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat.

...you start giving advise when someone finds an unusual coin in the cafeteria line.

A lady ahead of me once received a 1912 V nickel and I held up the line convincing her it was real. Too bad it didn't have a mint mark.

Or when you buy coins for the wife and take them back soon after because ya know she really don't care, works great for the more expensive ones.

I really like Pertinax`s and not only that but iv done it multiple times before. You know your addicted to coin collecting when you put your coin collection before anything else and will stop at nothing to keep them safe, preserved, growing and loved no matter what financial state your in.
