Dr....am super happy for you! Glad to see things are going your way! Let's all hope the auction goes just as well! Again...if you ever find yourself out here in Kentucky (lots of civil war sites here, people find Seated dimes here all the time in the old "mustering areas") give me a shout and we can go fish'n

Standard means the regular holder as opposed to secure, which has the PCGS shield symbol on the label and gets specially imaged and archived so that they can identify the coin even if out of the holder. This is done just in case it is stolen and resubmitted. It is required on coins above $50,000 but you can request it on any coin for an extra $5.

More info on secure: http://www.pcgs.com/secure/

Hello,

For the benefit of DrTones I would like to hear some opinions with some representative examples on the pertinence of placing an auction reserve on coins of this nature: waste of time/money, protective, beneficial etc...

Great Collections offers incentive for an appropriate Reserve on a coin in that they will relist at no penalty to the seller. Absolutely discuss a Reserve to protect yourself; a Reserve in this venue isn't the buzzkill it might be on ebay. The buying audience is sophisticated enough to understand the need for a Reserve.

Let me do some digging and I'll offer a numerical suggestion in a bit. I couldn't be happier for you.

Thanks Dave! I'm thinking a reserve of 4k would be in order?

It will hit $4,000 no problem. I'd just let the thing rip, you've committed to selling it at this point, and it's not as if you are going to lose money on it if it doesn't get high enough.
