Hello,

I recently acquired this coin from an american coin lot (with several better coins) I bought at a local auction. I am no expert in coins like this so I hope you can help me with determining it's authenticity

Thanks in advance!

Looks off to me. It should be a KM#1.8.
But the portrait is too far right. The " mint mark " is too high and too far right. The alignment of the date is off. All the details are there, but there is just too much " off " here to comfortably think that it is authentic California Fractional Gold.

Fractional Gold tokens (due to the sheer variety of them) are presently outside of my expertise, but I will say that there are so many reproduction sets around for them that you'll need to have it tested even if you have a good feeling it's real.
