Hi all, I came across this beautiful 1859 Cent, and when I took at look at is closer, I saw that the R and E in Regina are completely broken off (the top part of those two letters). I'm pretty sure that it isn't from normal wear and tear as the obverse is in almost immaculate condition. How much of a price would this go for if I put it on ebay.

here are some pics:

Silverdollar

you might get a few dollars over the going rate.
However, 1859s have a funny way. If centsles sells them and says it is a MS coin they get 5-10 times more as u and I would.
I have sold EF-low 9s for $ 5 and similar coins in VF for $ 10... one never knows.
The key is good images if you list it: show the date and any differences very sharp and clear. I have found that Haxby or Turner numbers in the first Title only confuse a possible buyer. they are ok in the description.

I lost all my stuff so I am guessing Vancouver Island?
Plus I could not remember my password so I re did everything, hence the name change.

I agree with fourmack. Haxby PC59-31 obverse 3 paired with reverse E5. Notice the die crack on the A of REGINA. The missing letter tops are from die clogs.

PM me if interested in parting with it. ed
