They are somewhat scarce, but not overly so. The first that I had seen was 2-3 years ago from Dan in Crystal Lake. I have 4-5 of them and have given a few away to other collectors. No one looks at Eds too much.

Interesting piece though. Is this not listed in Griffins work on Edwards ?

Griffin's descriptions were not always comprehensive, the best match is GR-353... in Monograph #3.

Got it Roger just looked on Page 31 3rd one down. I see it is similar but yours is definitely different. You did not miss a dot or special marking or anything did you ? !

As Roger siad, Jack didn't always get things right and the Charlton reprint, Monograph 1, has many many erors with the thumbnails placed with the wrong description. I personally think that Griffin never saw one so you have to guess whether it's 353 or 349 but who knows? It's a well-known coin to variety collectors.

That is, in part, why I used the term "Notched" and not the term that Griffin tended to use, "recut".

That is one of 4 or 5 different re-punched (no H) sevens. I have not yet found one in good enough shape to buy. You sure take nice pictures.
