Thank you for the pictures and the write up. Mine are on the way, minus the gold issues. Can't wait to see them.

Quote: I hope the dollar is not sold out yet. None of the options are anywhere near sold out...the silver has over 440,000 (combined) left and the gold over 80,000 The 3 piece pf set has sold a tad over 60% of the limit but the individual coins in the set have a LONG way to go.

Quote: Since there is no way to prove whether a coin came single, and, replaced an actual 3 coin blemished coin, I find odd, and, I think NGC MUST have unopened boxes to do their special label..PCGS does not seem to do this. Correct...so the only way to get the "set" label would be by sending in a sealed Mint shipping box. If they do not require this then the label is pointless since any coins could be substituted into the set before submission.

Somebody else call PCGS, and ask if min boxes need to be sealed..(yesterdays' person said no...I don't think she really understood the issue)..they surely must know better, and, need sealed for accuracy..too much at stake to blow the call. They would have to buy back all the coins later.

Ilikeikes, I think PCGS has always been more relaxed on special label standards than NGC. For example, at the 2014 World's Fair of Money, the Kennedy coins, NGC required the original mint receipt but PCGS didn't.

As Spock used to say..."Illogical Captain"....you know darn well the pro's, with lots too pick from, will swap their best into sets then. A "Conundrum" of the modern coin era..

The Mint's sales report (released earlier today) shows the following for the US Marshals coins:
Gold $5 (Proof): 4,759 Gold $5 (Unc): 4,556 Silver $1 (Proof): 37,530 Silver $1 (Unc): 18,835 Clad Half (Proof):22,953 Clad Half (Unc):13,323 Three-Piece Set (Proof): 9,901
None of these sales figures hits or exceeds the mintage limit. So, if the report numbers are correct, the current "Out of Stock" indication for some of the coins on the Mint's web site is most definitely a temporary situation. All will be available again.

I was just able to order my U.S. Marshals Service 225th Anniversary 2015 Proof Silver Dollar, it says it's on back order not sold out and will be available Feb. 10th, very excited!

I do find it interesting that this product is out of stock across the board in such a short period of time.
I think the interest in this series was beyond the Mint's expectations. And I wouldn't be surprised if this series out sells the 2015 March of Dimes series.

@welder: I agree that the new Marshals coins appear to be fairly popular with collectors. As a comparison, here are the figures for the first week of sales for the 2014 Civil Rights silver dollar: Proof: 10,056 Uncirculated: 4,424 Each of these figures is well below the first week of Marshals silver dollar! The Civil Rights SD sales numbers are about 25% (+/-) of the Marshals' SD. Of course, they're no where near the Week 1 sales figures of the Baseball HOF coins!

Well, I Just received my Coins. I also just finished boxing them up and getting off the phone with the mint so I could return them for replacement.
Out of 8 coins, the ONLY one I felt worth keeping was 1 of the UNC Dollar coins.
All of the others looked horrible.
The person at the mint did not seem surprised at all. In fact he said that they were having a "rash of returns" of the items due to defects in the dies and finishes.
I really couldn't believe he was telling me this over the phone to tell you the truth.
Anyway, I hope the replacements will be MUCH better.
The UNC I did keep is Beautiful though. Wouldn't make a 70 but it is VERY nice!
Good luck all.
