I don't mean to dig up an old thread like this, but,to be honest,I forgot I started this one. Until I looked at the envelope it came in again.
Thanks for all of your opinions!
The story behind this coin goes back to My Grandfather and My,not quite yet,Grandmother.
The note that was folded around it,hand written,in a hand folded envelope, and a small stamp to seal it,said:"Dearest --------,These silent messengers brings my message of good cheer and best wishes to you on this new years day.
From your Dearest friend -------.
with Happiness,Hope and Love"
It is dated 1926 as well. So,I'm assuming, that He got the coin some time later in the year/s? I can't say for sure.
Edit :I did some more research and He gave it to Her for a Christmas present at the end of December in 1926.

That's amazing. It was pulled from circulation the same year it was minted and saved all this time.
That is truly a family heirloom.

Nice story about this coin, its amazing how .

MS-65. Not sure about it being a FH due to a very slight weakness to the left of the eye.

You are lucky to have ancestors who pulled this coin out and saved it.

I sometimes try to imagine my grandparents using these coins as spending money and thinking nothing of it.
