Last night I won an auction on ebay for a lot of four Buffalo nickels. It includes a 1928-S in VF and 1921 in VF/EF, a 1913 Type 1 in AU/Unc. and this 1919. These are the seller's photos. The coin is in the mail to me. It looks to be a very nice coin. What do people think? The seller's photos are pretty good. I'll post more when I get the coin. Thanks! Paul Bulgerin

Sweet coin! I stink at grading buffaloes, so I'm gonna let the experts grade this one.

That could be MS. Possible pvc damage, I think I see a little green on it but hard to tell. Acetone in it's future.

Pics are too blurry to evaluate.

We'll need to see photos of it out of that flimsy cardboard 2x2. It looks like it has good luster but it's hard to tell with the photos.

Blurry pics....BUT....
Believe this will be a gem in hand. Luster = check! FULL HORN = check! Split Tail = check!
Cannot wait to see pictures when the Buff is in hand!

The coin arrived today and I think it's fantastic. Here are a couple of quick shots I took. The strike is great with strong luster. There's one tiny mark on the Indian's cheek and one on the buffalo. The white spot above the Indian's head is a bit of dust I didn't notice. The green spots on the reverse are actually black, so it doesn't appear to have any PVC issues.

I've taken a couple more shots of the coin under slightly different lighting. I'm thinking of sending this one to NGC since the 1919 gets expensive in higher grades.

Definitely uncirculated....I am no expert on Buffalo nickels so I will throw a guess of MS62 or higher, very nice coin.

I'm pretty confident this is MS due to the luster on the highest spots. I'd say MS-63. Nice Buffalo!

You'll need 65 for real value. This is a lovely coin - if I can tell a Buff is Mint State, you got a good one - but 65 is probably a stretch. If it were mine and I had any headroom at all on the coin I'd submit it just for the thrill of the hunt.
