Here is an undated Hungarian Denar under King Wladislaus II with a K-M/AF mint mark that can be attributed to 1495;Huszar 803,Unger 638c,Pohl 238-2,Rethy II276. The next one I have that can be attributed to a single year is 1489(3).

Very nice! Quote: The next one I have that can be attributed to a single year is 1489(3). I hope we will fill the gaps, just like we did last time. Of course, we need to find a 1491 and 1490 to get to your 1489.

Quote: I hope we will fill the gaps, just like we did last time At least we got past 1495 (which had nothing in the Frey/Levinson thread). Hopefully, those who posted 1494, 1493, and 1492 in that thread will post their coins here, too. For 1491, we might need something Islamic or undated, but attributable to a single year?

As it happens (thanks to the recent Malwa thread for reminding me of this possibility), 1491 AD is close enough to 896 AH that there isn't much of a problem in identifying the years (it gets a lot less convenient in the 1470s, though - so we might not be able to pass that period).
Of course, I just tried to search CCF and didn't find any 896 AH coins, but that doesn't mean that no CCF members have any.
...I once (okay, more than once) wondered if it's even theoretically possible to find a coin for every year from 1 to 2000 AD (counting non-standard years for the part the majority falls in, presumably, and including undated coins with a known minting period of a year or less). Chances are, it's probably impossible, but I still have no idea which years would be missing specifically. (The Muslims were pretty thorough with their dating once they actually started to do it commonly, so there probably isn't anything missing this side of 720 AD or so, and a lot of places dated coins in the 1st and 2nd centuries; but the area in the middle - especially the 7th century - is going to be tricky.)

Quote: For 1491, we might need something Islamic or undated, but attributable to a single year? Yes, either of those will work. If anyone has something that qualifies, the Second Edition is still open (for now).

Quote: At least we got past 1495 (which had nothing in the Frey/Levinson thread). Yes good point. Here is a 1 Cavallo of the Italian State of Aquila that doesn't explicitly show the date, but was minted in 1495 AD. The attribution is Biaggi 128.

Ah sorry had to work late. Here is the same Schilling from the German Duchy of Pommerania. It is dated 1494 AD and was minted in Damm. The attribution is Levinson I-320.

Here is a half Groschen of Mainz dated 1493 AD. Attribution is Levinson I-303. Also, now that we are in the 1400s, I'd like to remind folks of another thread with this similar subject, just more focused: http://goccf.com/t/269713
