Hi all! I would like to purchase this Alexander The Great coin, but before I do I would like some opinions on what you think it may be worth. I dont want to overpay :P It weighs 16.93grams and is 31.63mm in size. Thanks!

Looks to be double struck, which is interesting.

The double strike is interesting and the price paid at the auction was below average. I would expect this coin to sell in the range of at least $350.

It is a rather nice one ! The problem with not wanting to "overpay" is that there is no authoritative way to judge the value of an ancient coin. It is like asking "how much is my Picasso worth ?" The only way to find out is to auction it !
I can see one of my favorite sellers asking $350 I can also see one of my slightly less favorite sellers buying it for that and asking $500 ! And I can see my least favorite seller (never bought a single coin off him in 40 years !) asking a cool grand !
It all depends how much you like this one It does have quite a bit going for it too
A better question might be "Seller is asking X ....... Does that sound fair ?"

Thanks everyone! @FVRIVS RVFVS you make a very good point. I ended up buying the coin for $350USD. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and just had to have it :)

You got a very nice coin regardless of price, I understand falling in love with a coin at first sight, hopefully in a few days I can show one of my recently obtained coins.
