Well I shy away from almost all silver (Lucernae did have me tempted though ! It was a near thing.) With the exception of a few distant 'ancestors'(ie CORDIVS RVFVS, MINVCIVS RVFVS, SERVIVS RVFVS) I rarely even look at the silver coins ! They can be mesmerizing ! Too many distractions and as I can't afford to buy all the coins I try to limit myself to bronze. The sole exception I make are Folli of the Tetrarchy period which while either silver washed or Billon alloy are essentially glorified AE's

Thanks so much for the discussion, very informative!
I was wondering what that dimple was for.
Thanks for sharing your photos too. I hope to get more Ptolemys in the future. I'd love to get one that's 70g +.
You guys rock!

Ptolemy coins are big and thick.
I remember those two coins you posted before ThisIsFun. Very cool comparison!

Here an assortment of some loose change from Ptolemaic Cyprus around a near cull with ~36mm diameter (got it for the nice counterstamp):

Yours in in wonderful shape comnpared to mine above. Apart from the countermark which is clearly Ptolemaic mine would grade as Poor-1.
Those lines on yours look like harsh cleaning. If you decide to soak the coin for some time, most of it should vanish.
