What Would ICCS Grade A PL-67 Coin Graded By Pcg

macdon Valued Member Canada 495 Posts	Posted 01/27/2015 2:03 pm I have a few PL67 graded coins from PCGS and am hesitant to send any to ICCS who seem to downgrade TPG coins from USA.I know this may be difficult to answer without seeing the coin but a few comments I got from local collector friends is anywhere from forget it to maybe a PL65 or if lucky MS66 is a MS 66 from ICCS same as a PL67? There is no universal grading standard out there when it comes to comparing companies. Don't ever expect the same grade from these two companies. Report this Post to the Staff

Two recent examples from personal experience. A PL67 PCGS 1954 Dollar older green holder X graded ICCS67 as well. A PCGS older green holder MS65 1939 dollar X graded ICCS64. kuh_85 Pillar of the Community Canada 2366 Posts	Posted 01/27/2015 4:25 pm In my experience (mostly with MS coins), recently graded high grade PCGS are more likely to be nicer than the equivalent grade ICCS coin. Older PCGS holders (particularly lower grades F-AU) that statement DEFINITELY doesn't apply to. My most extreme example to date was keeping a 1999P 1c PCGS MS64 and selling my 1999P 1c ICCS MS65. As a general rule (IE more often than not), if I've been holding both an ICCS & (recently graded) PCGS (recently graded) MS65 or MS66 coin it's been the PCGS that goes in the collection and the ICCS that goes back in the wild. That's been my experience with a few dozen examples in the last couple of years. Report this Post to the Staff
