Is this variety settled solely for 1998, 1999 and 2000? Or was this also from previous years? A better question would probably be is when did we go from Wide AM to Close AM?
thank you.

1992 was supposed the be the last year of Wide-AMs. Some 1992 and 1992-Ds made it through with the Close-AMs, making them collector's item.

I'm still a rookie, so please forgive me if I got this wrong!

I haven't had a lot of experience with Lincoln cents and would like to make a request. Is there anyone who can post pics of all three to make the comparison easier for this dime lover? I understand what the differences are but would love to see the three (wide, close, regular) next to each other. Perhaps post a link to where this is already found? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can check any Cent you have in your pocket and see what they look out for.
Cents from 1959-1992 Should all be the wide A M. Only a very small number of close AMs for that year)
Cents from 1993 forward should have the Close AM. There are several examples of 1998 & 2000 Cents with the wide A M. Just a few 1999 wide A M Cents. The proof Cents from 1959-2007 have the wide A M, except the 1993 Proof that has the Close AM.
