My lowest minted coin would have to be my 1977 FM Jamaica Dollar. This one is the uncirculated finish with a mintage of only 597. Please forgive the photo, its hard to get a clear shot of this coin with the lifhting setup I have.

ET that coin is astonishing. Such a beauty. Thanks for sharing it here. Not just a low mintage but a low survival rate as well. And a very tough coin in that grade or higher. Doug Winter did a nice write up on the 1861-C half eagle a while back. Quote:

I used to have a 1921p walking into liberty half with a mintage of 275,000 I believe. Still kick my self sometimes for selling it but I only paid $8.00 for it and sold it for $100. Wasn't in that great of shape but still wish I would of kept it now that I'm more in to collecting.

Well, I guess I will post a couple things that fall in different categories. I hope that is ok. First, my lowest mintage circulation issue is this 1886 Quarter Dollar with a mintage of 5,000. Second is the lowest mintage proof issue, which is this 1883 Trade dollar having a mintage of 979. Lastly, the rarest numismatic item I have is this Elder Dollar (HK-810) with only 50 struck. The Max Mehl envelope goes with this medal. Just for fun - here is another Detroit Coin Club medal that is the same as one that another member posted. With a reported mintage of only 100, it seems that CCF is well connected to this particular medal. Anybody else have one?

Quote:Many world ebay sites have rules that differ from the "mother ship" It seems to me that if significant amounts of money are involved coupled with lingering confusion about EBay('s){assuming multiple countries are involved} policy about this issue, having a 'written' pre-sale declarative statement from ebay will CYA. Why endure all of the guessing, speculating, & waiting for unwanted issues when one can simply shoot out a two minute email to the originating ebay sale location and then have something concrete to go bank with? Let ebay waste all of their time working out all of the interactive/internal nuances on the international level.

Quote: 1724 Liege Patagon - 4000 minted That coin is in the best condition that I have ever had the pleasure to view for the age group that it falls into. B/t/w it appears that the coin is in a slab? Plonker, do you mind disclosing a photo of the printed slab details incl. the name of the TPG, grade, and any other noted info.? Thanks in advance., mdp

Just for the record my previous post should have actually gone in another more applicable thread but its contents could also apply somewhat to this thread. It was late and I failed to more closely read the initial comments of this discussion etc. It was never my intent to hijack this thread etc.

If my memory is correct - the 25th anniversary ASE set with a mintage of 100,000 of which I have six - one opened for enjoyment and 5 still in a sealed mint shipping box. I probably should have had them graded but didn't. The five while still in unopened shipping packages are not in any population number. I could possibly sitting on 25 MS or PF 70 examples that are unknown.

Thailand 5 Baht Y#185. Mintage for the year 2530 (1987) is given as 14 million. The year 2531 (1988) does not have a mintage figure in the catalog but is valued the same as above. Now in 10+ years I've checked all my Thai change as I get it. I must have come across hundreds of the '87 but I've only ever found two of the '88's. I think it must be a much lower mintage. Don't have the '88 to hand at the moment but here is the '87. PS Peter1 (posting on this topic 03/14/2015) where in Thailand are you based? I'm on Koh Samui. Sorry, should have read your profile first, I see you're in Pattaya.
