How many are members of this great club in this community? I am a life member and have learned so much from other club members. As soon as I learn how to post pictures I will share my CC's with you.

Wow, I'll also have to check that out. I'm working on a full set of CC Morgan dollars right now. I've only got 3, but it will be done soon.

I have completed a set of the Carson City half dollars. I am working on collecting different Wiley-Bugert varieties of the half dollars now. It sure does make collecting fun.

It will vary from coin to coin. The three I have are the common date ones (82-84). The 82 is NGC MS64, the 83 is also NGC MS64, and the 84 is in a GSA but looks to be around MS63. Although, I do plan to sell the 1883 and get either an MS65 or MS65 PL version. The coins that will not be in mint state condition will be the 1879, 1889, 1892, and 1893. I think that I'll be able to acquire mint state pieces for all the other dates. As for your half dollars, that must have been one heck of a set to complete. Maybe once I'm finished with this one, I'll build a CC half dollar set.

I sent in my membership application this last week. Figured I should join since I have the whole CC Morgan date set and over half of the CC Double Eagles. Looking forward to the meeting at the Chicago ANA as well.

Does one need to have the CC branch mint proofs in order to have the entire Morgan series?

I am working on the Morgan set in PCGS vg8 a tough grade for some of the dates especially the 1885-CC. DoubleEagle20 welcome to the club !! I spoke with Rusty Goe last night for a couple hours. He was the architect of the Battle Born Collection of a complete Carson City set auctioned by Stacks Bowers in August 2012. I have seen some of those coins up close and am blown away by the quality. Good luck with your set Necer149.

jimbucks, I learned from Bill Bugert about the 1871-CC one sided proof half dollar and Randy Wiley was gracious enough and let me use a picture of the coin he once owned for an article that I submitted to our club journal Curry's Chronicle.

I owned a nice original surface 1885-CC in VG-10 for awhile. They are out there but tough to find in nice shape, CC. Many of them were cleaned back in the days when 1885-CC was big rarity. Keep looking and you will find one. There is only one other Morgan that rarer in VG than 1885-CC, IMO...1903-O.

I have been thinking about doing a CC set. Is there a year where the CCs run throughout the coins? Dime,20c,quarter, half dollar dollar and gold cc?
