Are you referring to the mintmark?

If so, I see what you mean. Barely.

Try to get some clearer pics up.

Also check out coppercoins.com. It bears a passing resemblance to one 1987-D RPM shown there.

Kind of looks like this picture from coppercoins.com

But yes, it was the mint mark in question. It's hard to get a good picture, as the light drowns out the extra mint mark.

It looks close to this picture, but only the bottom portion of the D, the well, faded part, or bumpy section, SE of the D mint mark, plus mine, that bumpy part, doesn't look like a full D.

It has something to do with the plaiting. I have it similar on my example of the 003. But that part is not a RPM.
