Actually my Grandmother with Lincoln cents got me started when I was pre-teen in age. It wasn't until many years later in the early 70's I started saving silver Kennedy's and Halves bought at the banks and in circulation that I really got back into collecting. It has blossomed from there. I'm now a full fledged coin junkie.

When Gold was around $450 an ounce, my Dad said Brandon, if you're smart you'd be investing in gold, it's gonna just keep going up. I believe I was 23, I was like "ok Dad... suuuuure". Well he unfortunately killed himself and left me with some money... I started investing in gold and silver.

But also, I've been fascinated with coins since I could remember, I had a fake Indian head Nickel that was the size of my hand, I went on vacation to Hawaii and my parents let me pick something out as a souvenior, I picked out some weird coin... I must've been 7! I think it's something you're just born with, and either you get introduced to it, or you don't.

My dad was out walking one night and a drunk veteran asked my dad for some real money for beer in exchange for some wheaties. There were probably 50 wheaties. My dad gave him 3 dollars for the wheaties and my dad gave them to me. I was not into coin collecting at the time but those coins are what got me collecting. Funny thinking back on it.

I had a collection of Liberty Walkers as a kid. I had about twenty of them in a jar from doing chores etc. I felt like a millionaire.
