So I got mine in, cant eyeball any differences among them. Do I just send a few in to a grading company to see where they land, or keep them in original packaging in the back of the safe for a few years.

If I had more than 2, depending how risk averse I was I would keep one as part of the collection, one to speculate on (or possibly use for trade) and sell the others now.

Quote: I would sell them now personally I have to agree. If I were in it for the profit, now seems like the time to flip them.

Just got mine in the mail today and must say I couldn't be more disappointed. Weak strike with an obvious spot that did not fill on the jaw see pics....So very upset about this. Guess I should at least be happy I'm one of the few that seems to have gotten one from the mint, but still can't believe this got through...

Further proof that the mint has no visual QC and/or doesn't care. Very disappointing.

That hole looks like it could have been a planchet flaw. It borders on an error regardless. You should be able to get an exchange with the Mint paying shipping both ways if you protest with enough vigor.

I think the weak detail is expected, something about an article linked earlier where they said the scanning technology wasnt advanced enough for this size of plancet. The pit is odd though, wouldnt that be an issue with the planchet manufacturer, I wonder if it has shown up on other 1/10th ounce mint issues. Unless it is a die defect, but then we would expect 1900 more to show up like that.

Jefkve - there might be a bright side. As BH1964 said this could be an error. I haven't personally had much luck finding errors but I've seen where errors can increase the value of coins quite a bit!

Agreed Quote: You should be able to get an exchange with the Mint paying shipping both ways if you protest with enough vigor. Agreed. This was my first thought, but I decided to wait and check with my dealer and take opinions before I attempt to return/exchange the coin. Any thoughts and/or opinions would be appreciated.

Got mine today (2) here are the pics. will post 1 for sale on ebay, and 1 is a keeper. I'm happy with it, and a proud owner. I'm very excited about the SLQ and the WLH. Weak strike,no full bands but a pristine representative of a 100 year old classic coin.

I probably will have to buy in the secondary market, my order says backorder now. Crap-O-La!

I think your backorder will be shipped eventually. They took orders for a tad over 122k and I'm sure they didn't mint all 125k initially. So backorder makes sense.
