Quote: Just a thought, if they struck them in silver with the 2016 date, would they be necessary to complete the sets of those coins? I say no, but that is just my opinion. So does it matter? Only if you think so.

If the Mint do sell it separately and as a set, which I think they will, I will definitely pick up a few extra dimes.

I am pretty sure they will make some 3-coins sets and those will be sold out quickly. I am hoping the set will come in special mahogany wood box (like some of the old days set), not the metal w/ felt or acrylic box.

I've been spending too much lately and with long beach coming up if these are coming in late Feb I'm gonna need to probably plan this out. What are we thinking on issue prices for these? And do we know if they will be individual or one big set or both, I can't remember.

I am excited to see what the mint will do these, but I really wish they would make them in silver. It would also be kind of cool if they decided to make the dime at the Denver mint.

Because it would require specific legislation, as they are not the current authorized designs for those denominations.

I see. It makes sense it was easier to do with the Kennedy half a couple years ago, since that's still the current design.

Correct. It is also why we can have the silver proof sets every year.

I'd like to jump on the bandwagon for this set. The dilemma I have is whether this set will be worth melt in the future vs spending the cash on good examples of the originals.

I would love to be able get this set but like jbuck and others, gold is usually out of my current budget.
I do like that they are planning on the original SLQ design without the chain mail. Hopefully it stays that way.

Argh, I jumped bumped the related thread in the classic forum. More appropriate here, I guess. Anyhow...there is great info here. https://goccf.com/t/232843&whichpage=2Anybody still curious, and can hang on until (!) December?

Wait. The 1916 gold won't be until December now? Are they releasing all at once or spacing them out

Not to be too off topic here, but to jbuck's comment: Quote:
Correct. It is also why we can have the silver proof sets every year. ...does anyone know why they don't mint the dollar coins in silver for those sets? Nickels and pennies too for that matter? I would definitely buy the Native American dollar coins in silver if there was such a thing.
