I would like to start getting into coin roll hunting. What is the best way to get started and how to do it. I have been interested in this for awhile and would like some advice on how to get started.

What exactly are you looking for silver, newer coins, or just old coins? If you want silver the best way is by having your bank order $500 half boxes. If you just want to have fun looking for older coins I say get $100 nickel boxes from the bank. It's a lower investment and you will find relatively nice coins often from the 1930's-1950's. You may find a small amount of silver per box too. You can expect a dateless Buffalo nickel about once in every five boxes where I am from. Cents can be decent too with a similar spread spread though I find far less wheat pennies then I do old nickels.

You just find a bank willing to change your cash for boxes rolls of coils. Some will do it some won't. You also should find a bank that has a free coin counter in a different bank then where you get the coin. I'm sure some other people will give you links to good threads soon, I just can't remember where they are.

I'd say get a box of cents for $25 and pull out the wheats, but then I may be a bit prejudice in favor of wheaties (hence the name)

Ask for dimes and halves, or nickels. Look for silver rims, or look at every coin for silver (and errors if you like). Get a RedBook, very informative.
