The first picture (above) shows the 9 issue a bit better, though, as it was shot on a slight angle. Also included the reverse this time. Report this Post to the Staff

The mark on the 9 looks like a big contact mark; your term "squished" pretty much says it all. It doesn't look like a mint-made error. This cent appears to be a bright red uncirculated coin. With the many small nicks and the bigger hit on the date, it won't grade very high. Maybe MS-63 Red at best. The '55-S is a low-mintage date but since many were saved they don't cost much. This would be a perfect coin to put in a Lincoln Cent album. Cheers! Report this Post to the Staff

I see no wear on the coin ,,although it appears to be a later die state coin which accounts for the mushy reverse lettering . I agree with the MS-62 grade . Metalman Report this Post to the Staff
