It's not that hard y'all. I don't take the time to write an item description clearly setting our terms and conditions of the sale for you to completely ignore it, and then complain when you have a problem with a coin that would have been avoided had you taken the time to read the listing and then not ignore what you just read. In that vein, here's a buyer that I'd advise all of you ebay sellers to block from bidding: picker676. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. *** |

I NEVER bid off of ebay anymore. I did about 4 years ago on a CC morgan, and the difference between the picture and what was sitting in my hand was a joke. I just bit the bullet and said to myself, "it's my fault for actually trusting another human being on the internet to be truthful". The only thing I would consider buying would be for say, a roll of dimes, or mercury's or something along those lines. Anything that is not graded, but graded by the person selling it... stay away. |

Stacker82, you shouldn't let a bad experience ruin it for you. Obviously there are some bad apples (in life in general), but I, along with many others have great experiences and have received some very nice coins at very nice prices on ebay and other internet venues. Either way it is a personal choice, but you shouldn't paint with too broad of a brush regarding the truthfulness of humans on the internet. |

For what it's worth, y terms and conditions weren't complicated. Simply said: "I think the coin is BU. Judge for yourself from pictures to estimate the grade for yourself. I will not accept returns on the basis that your opinion of grade differs from mine. If your opinion of grade differs from mine, I suggest you not bid." The buyer's response when I noted that language: "I couldn't tell from pictures what the grade was." Then why bid if you're not able to judge the grade from the pictures, the listing clearly tells you to judge for yourself, and the listing states that there are no returns? In addition to selling, I also buy I ebay. I also read the listing before doing so. In the one instance in which I got burned because I didn't read the full listing before I bid did I blame the seller? No, I took responsibility for my mistake, like an adult. |

Space, I just base it off of a few transactions on ebay. But, the thing is, I don't really need ebay so I don't use it. If I was stuck in the situation I was in when I ordered a few years ago (I was stationed in the middle of a desert with nothing around me except my base and a Wal Mart) I would probably still use it. The fact is I have really good LCS here where I live now. I'm not trying to dismiss ebay, it definitely has a place and a purpose, but for me personally after being on the receiving end of a few transactions I qualify as "suspect", I don't do it anymore. Like I said, would I buy a roll of dimes or quarters? Sure! Would I buy a coin that isn't certified, but in fact graded in the description by the seller, no. And by the way, a tiny bit off topic, but this place (meaning these forums) are awesome. I used to go to a site goldsilvercha*.com and was scared away by how mean the members were. I just started posting here not too long ago, and am very surprised at how nice and helpful everyone here seems to be! Thanks! |

For the record, ebay sided with me and let me keep the money. Bottom line, save yourself and everybody else time and read the dang listing. |

IMPORTANT for SELLERS: There's no Such thing as NO RETURNS, all a buyer has to do is open a not as described case. This will Trump any no return policy the Seller has! Stating no returns, can mean ebay or Paypal issues a refund and a buyer keeps the product. Also be Ware under this claim seller also ends up paying return shipping! Sellers carefully read the new ebay rules and write your policy accordingly! The best advice I can give is go do some reading on the ebay seller/buyer forums. Look on the site map at the bottom of the page. It's a whole new education. |
