So an auction ends on a Sunday, the Monday is a postal holiday Still I process the package as soon as the auction is paid for. I print the shipping label and submit the tracking number and put the item in the mail on Monday even though it wont be picked up until Tuesday.
My positive feedback from the buyer because he had to wait five days before the package to arrive since it too the PO that long to deliver it.
"Slow to ship"

I judge a seller on shipping time based on how long it takes he or she to drop off the package for shipment. The seller has no power over the transit time of first class mail. That's all the postal service. Did you block that idiot?

If I think there's going to be a delay I send the buyer a message. It may or may not help but it's worth a try.
Also I believe you can respond to the f/b which gives you a chance to comment.

Ugh....some ebay buyers just don't get it. It should be fairly obvious when you shipped it and that once you ship it, it's out of your control. I swear, people are getting dumber and dumber.

Move on , if you offer good service whatever happens in the postal services is beyond your control. If you are going to be successful in ebay or any business, you have to develop somewhat thick skin. Treat everyone fairly offer decent prices and good service and you will be a success. Worrying about every little glitch serves no purpose. Over time you are going to have lots of bidiots and the odd loss. You will NEVER maintain 100 per cent satisfaction from customers in any business ,online or bricks and mortar. Aint gonna happen!

There's no pleasing some people.
The good news is that the overall feedback was positive at least. If your overall feedback score is good, most people won't ever look at the detail comments.

Again Pacific is on the money with his comments!! Some people just don't understand the postal service, even when they can follow the tracking! I blame ebay for this, as they foster unreal expectations from the buyer with the way they word the feedback question on shipping time!! It needs to be worded to reflect how fast the seller dropped at the post office!! Reading postings in this category and some others, there's tons of threads on how long the postal service takes. Some people expect to have a parcel across the country in 3 days or less. Ebayers have unrealistic expectations when it comes to shipping. Try being a customer of the Royal Canadian Mint, it can take months, or there's a poster, who's just got a shipping confirmation of an order from 2012. Now there's slow customer service! Richard I totally hear what you're saying. I hope things start turning positive for you!

A little preemptive action can save a lot of grief. Both ways...
I bought a coin from a seller in Maine during the last blizzard. He dropped me a quick note - "hey, can't get out to the PO because of the snow" Know what I told him: "Thanks for the update! Stay safe... my GF now wife was there for the blizzard of '83 - I never made it out of NJ w/ 27" of snow."
