Or take him to a pawn shop and have him check shaft length, weight, coil weight and all that. The Ace 250s are a good starting point though. Report this Post to the Staff

I didn't want to spend a fortune but I wanted to get them a good enough unit that they could have success with it. I bought him the Ace 250, it's no toy, a very nice unit, light enough for a small child but can do some real work. I think the bottom line is no matter what you get he will be thrilled.
