on a no date type 1 Standing Liberty quarter, Is their a way to determine which is which?

The shield. If the beads do not show through it is a 1916. Pics would help

This should be about the last visible feature on the coin. It's legible to a grade worse than P01:

I am having trouble deciphering those two image differences. I think I got it though. Based on those pictures I would say 1917's but for insurance before I list them, Here are pics.....

Yes, those are both 1917's. 1916's that worn will have almost no curve at all on the bottom. If anything, it's clearer with a lot of wear.

I normally look for the rivet detail in the shield. The 1916 has a very weak rivet detail and the 1917 has a strong detail even in the lowest grades.

This image has circulated many times here in the CCF, and I do not know who supplied it first.
