its been suggested elsewhere that there will be a 1oz silver looney coin packaged in an ACME crate box...
If so, this could become the hit of the series. It will be the same image as the gold coin.

The other forum guys posted great details about it and the May release mega-hits (2oz,4000 mintage, only $189),(chicken head fractional set, hope I mistake)

But actually I think, this silver one, although being with most successful design, doesn't bring additional attractiveness. Just a coloured image will not beat, imo, "The Shield"). Package? So why do we need the coin?

The coins are not going to be as simple as a colored image pasted on a round of silver.
From what I've learnt, each and every coin (from the sets to the ones sold individually) will have a secret hidden design element (as in you have to look closely) related to that character.
RCM has tried to ensure these don't go the way of the Disney coins by throwing in extra features like this.

The future of the gold Looney Tune coin looks bright with so many silver coins being issued. Collectors who have the silver coins will want to have the gold coin to complete their collection. Its hard to imagine it will do as well as the 2013 Gold Superman but it should sell in the range of $1000 to $1500. I doubt we will see it in Colonial Acres blow out sale any time soon.

This is the prediction with highest probability.

I suspect, that initially will be too many sellers on the secondary market. People already ordered and will search for more to get for issue and resell.

Here is how it is going to go as far as the gold LT coin.

One coin sells for $1500 on ebay,

Reseller/flippers or what have you see this and buy up all the coins priced at $1000 ish range or less where ever they can.

Note: Very few actual collectors have bought any yet.

Now we have a frenzy of buyers wanting to make a profit buying up all the other lower priced coins from others trying to make a profit, since they wouldn't be selling them if they were actual collectors of the coin.

Then once all the non collectors have their coins up for sale at inflated prices, the hype/frenzy dies down and these coins drop down to a bit above issue price at some point in the future.

The "smart" actual collector seeing this happen for the last gold superman coin wont buy at inflated prices and wait until the price drops.

Then again I could be completely wrong

On the other forum people described (confirmed?) about release of 18 Looney Tunes coins in total. And we thought that 2013 Superman release was big with 7 coins.
I looked for some nice Logo coin and seems the 1oz will be good, but after reading about amount of coins - totally lost interest.

About gold coin - I for 99% sure, that it will be at least couple of minutes on April 21-st, that will be possible to "Add to Cart" and make a checkout at one of the Dealers sites. But not interested in this one as well.

What happens when the 'crate' turns out to a cheap folded piece of cardboard that is easily damaged, expensive to ship (for the flippers) and has no place for the COA or some other obvious design flaw.

I think it's great when the mint puts effort into presentation but IMO a 'box' is not really a good reason to buy a coin.

Even a resin canoe couldn't help sell poorly designed coins with high mintages.

I think "the crate" is nothing special but RCM cardboard box (style 2014 Superman) just painted (decorated) as a crate.

Added:
Browsed the net and saw that The Royal Mint released for the May the V-coin (Mintage: 70, platinum, 3oz, BP 5.000). Although designed averagely (no doubt they'll repeat it in Silver), but it much important piece, than full of LT coins that RCM planned for this period.
I actually in hope, that RCM will issue very soon something impressive for WWII V day.

18 looney tunes coins is just being equitable to every character...there are many and no discrimination against any...
Should be fun to see them all...

Why such a fuss about coins from another country being sold here in Canada ? Why is our mint promoting and selling their coins , are they( New Zealand ) promoting and selling ours ?. I would rather see our mint promote Coins of Canada and Canadian history , sports and cultural history such as maybe a coin series based on immigration to Canada from other countries after the first and second world wars like maybe how those people enriched Canada or helped it grow and prosper or some similar historical fact . If I want coins from New Zealand then I will buy them from the New Zealand mint or a dealer who sells them . Surely our mint hasn't run out of ideas to promote or display Canada to the world . I wonder how much the Canadian mint is getting to promote and sell these other countries coins . Sorry if this seems bitter but Canada seems to be bending over a lot lately to " accommodate others " a lot lately . Just my POV .

It's likely a sharing of some product - reciprocal...
I don't have much interest for New Zealand product but others could verify perhaps the RCM product sells through many foreign Mints...
