Quote: I seem to be stuck on the number 3 got these on Friday. I will take three a week every week and stack 156 silver half dollars every year!

This is an odd pick up at least I think so. Teller had 4 rolls of halves I take them and these are the only 2 keepers. I'm certainly not complaining but wow.

I've had a hot streak during the past four weeks, when I've found almost 12 ounces of silver (principally 40% Kennedy half dollars -- including a roll of uncirculated 1969-D coins in an old-fashioned wrapper that I described elsewhere on this website). This week I called the office of a regional bank that typically doesn't have any half dollars. The teller told me she had $10 in halves. When I went to the bank to purchase them, I saw that they were in an envelope. When the teller handed them to me, I heard the distinctive "clink" of silver half dollars. That envelope contained seven 40% silver coins (which earned the teller a $10 Dunkin' gift card). Then I walked to the adjacent bank where I dumped $400 in half dollars I searched a few days ago. While I was cashing the receipt, I showed the young teller the silver coins I had just acquired. While she was examining them, I notice the edge of a silver dime in her tray. She let me purchase it (a 1943 Mercury dime) for 10 cents. Finally, I drove to a third local bank where every week the manager orders two boxes of Loomis-wrapped half dollars for me. (I recently ordered a pizza lunch for her team after I hit "pay dirt" in one of those boxes.) While I was purchasing the boxes, another teller came over and handed over a 1939 Washington quarter that she saved for me. It pays to show gratitude to the tellers by giving them gift cards or ordering pizza! One roll in those boxes had an impaired 1969-S proof "ender". I found three more 40% silver Kennedy half dollars in that box.

Yes, being civil with bank staff is a good thing. Picked up a BU+ W quarter not long ago--a teller set it aside for me.
