I'm reasonably satisfied with today's result after searching the three boxes of half dollars that the manager of a local bank orders for me every week: i.e., I found a 1952 Franklin half dollar in AU condition, seven more coins that contain 40% silver, and an impaired 2009-S proof coin. That's another 1.4 ounces of silver to add to my hoard. One of the 1967 half dollars seems like it may be a SMS strike -- but I don't know how to confirm that interpretation.

I put in some time yesterday went through $800-$900 in halves. This was all that I got. Let's see what happens with the next hunt.

HOW do you guys get such good pictures to post here? I posted a couple I took from when the coin was under my magnifyer, but was told NOT to do that any more. SO I asked how to do it instead... and I got........ crickets. So unless I can get some help I have no way to get pics other than what I did before. Any help?

For 99% of the images I post up are from my cell phone camera. just get good lighting (not directly overhead, but slightly to the side and snap away - it take a bit of practice to get good images.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try. I'm sure it'll take some practice to perfect.

Nice finds North Shore. I picked up a whole box of uncirculated 2023 D's. I do not think it is worth keeping but a few rolls for myself. I'm just finding new or unremarkable halves at this point for the past few months. I may have to change my strategy and banks to go to.
