You did great!! I just finished working 2 boxes and found 2 40%, a 74d DDO, and a 2000s proof. There are 2 more boxes at the bank with my name on them but I'm tied up working thru some other things at the moment so I may not get to them until Wednesday of next week.

To uncommoncents, I don't know how often Walking Liberty halves are found, but when I started searching rolls of nickels, I never thought I would find a Buffalo, but I've already found two! So that proves that obvious old coins are still out there.

Got ten rolls yesterday and found my first 77d Doubled Die! I've found the 73d, 74d, and 77d in the last couple of months. Pics when I get my QX5 (hopefully within a month)

I was trying to ID some of my halves and went to coin facts on this forum. The weights they give for the JFK Half Dollar 60's don't seem to match, am I looking at it wrong?

I read somewhere that JFK Halves dated 1965-1970 were 40% silver, and that some 1971's were made of 40% silver by mistake. The guy at the coin shop I go to says 40% silver was 1965-1969, and no 1971s were silver at all. Who's right? I'm just starting to roll hunt half dollars, so all advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Texas Collector, Officially, they were made through 1970, but 1970D were only included in Mint Sets, and never put in circulation. I've headr of reports of error 1971 40% halves, but I have never actually seen a post or read about an actual coin found

got every JFK year except 64,65,66,67,68,70,75,78,86,87,95, and no 2000's
most popular were 1971 and 1976, with 37 and 32 respectively.

just hit the jackpot! so, today I was waiting for my regular teller (the main cashier with vault access for my halves.) and decided to ask another teller if she had any halves I could look through. she handed me a two rolls.. in them: maybe because I brought the tellers a bag of candy?

I am traveling on business and stopped at a Chase Bank. I wound up with 8 silver clad halves and one Franklin. The teller asked me what I was looking for. I told her 1970, 87 and anything post "02 (mostly the truth!). She picked up the Franklin and said it "sounds different". I agreed. Somehow I have the feeling she won't be handing out silver halves anytime soon!
