I went to the north part of the state to visit my Dad and we went bank-hopping while I was there. I found 1 64 and 10 40%. It won't pay for the gas but it sure was fun spending time with my Dad

It sounds like everyone is doing rather well with the half dollar roll searches. I was so excited by all of the success stories, that I ordered two boxes for Friday. I've looked through boxes for three years (every week $1000), but had some dry spells during the last year. I remember when I first started in 2005, for the first two years it was definitely uncommon to get a box with no silver at all! Boy, I miss those days. Anyways, wish me luck and I'll post my finds on Saturday! Happy hunting.

I know bicentennial half dollars are nothing rare, but I was just curious how often you guys get them when roll searching.
Rest in Peace

It might be the most common half I run across after the 1971.

A LOT !!......every fourth or fifth coin in a roll one time !! There are SO MANY of them floating around !...>>Whether from Fed Boxes or customer wrapped or bank wrapped........doesn't matter !

I think too, that's one coin that people let go of first when they need gas money or something !!
Not knowing their real low value, so many people have saved them through the years.....and so "cycle dumps" keep us finding them quite often.....IMHO

I picked up all of the halves in a small town I was working in today. 5 banks and $128 later I started searching.

8 - 1964
5 - 1965
2 - 1966
2 - 1968
6 - 1969
1 - 2006D (never relased into circulation)

Also picked up 8 Ikes. Nothing special about them, just don't run across them very often.

I worked another batch of halves this evening.

I got 55 40% 2 1964 JFKs and a 1963 Bennie.

I also got 3 proofs, 2007, 1981 and 1988. 3 2007, 3 2005 1 2004 and a 2003. Not too bad huh?!?!

I must say, that the halves are definitley providing a lot of finds right now.

Good coin roll hunting to all!

I just looked through $350 of fed wrapped rolls and found one 40% Kennedy. Then I looked through $240 of customer wrapped rolls and found 12 40%, one NIFC (2005-P), and a roll of BU Bicentennials and roll of BU 1998 P (I know not worth anything but its still cool to find). Anyone else look for halves along the gulf coast?

Remember, if you can't find rolls of halves, request to order by the box. Be persistent, but nice, it ususally pays off! Besides, the San Francisco FED is a huge district and I'm sure they have plenty of halves in stock!

Sorted a box of $500. Found one 90% (1944), two 40%, and three recent not-intended-for-circulation (2003D 2005P 2006P).
