2001P and 2002-present were not released for circulation. 2001P, however, had very high mintage numbers (21 million), whereas 2002-2006 were all under about 4 million, some much less. So these could end up being key dates in the distant future. I'd keep all 2002-present, and keep a nice looking 01P to fill the hole.

I ordered $1000 bank-wrapped rolls from the Fed for the first time. Yellow wrappers, wrapped in June 2006 CWI #88, came from Dallas and wrapped in NF String wrappers. Well, after 3 weeks of waiting for these halves, I completed searching them this weekend. I got SKUNKED. These had been heavily searched. I even came across on coin that had red marker on the reverse. No silver whatsoever, no proofs, no 2002-present. NOTHING. The only uncirculated coins were from, strangely 96P and 2000 D. I wound up with a total of 3+ BU rolls of each of those dates, but no other uncirculated coins. Needless to say I am very disappointed and I don't think I will ever do another Fed box. There appears to be too many half silver hunters in the Dallas area. If I were to order more Fed boxes, the only place the will come from is Dallas. So, I will stick to customer wrapped rolls, where I have done very well-- but it is such a challenge to get them (before another half hunter gets there first).

So, would you say that it is worth getting halves from Casinos? It seems like getting a mint box is more successful.

I tried $200 from a local casino about 6 months ago and was skunked there for silver, not to mention the condition of the halves was so bad that there was noting worth keeping. I can't find it right now but we had a brief thread in the forum about whether casino machines can take silver or silver clad halves and I think the consensus was that the slot machines don't take those. So probably the casino halves will have been searched to remove the silver pieces so that they all the coins work properly in the slots.
I may try another batch of casino-rolled JFK halves in the next few months, but because of not finding anything the last time, I haven't had strong motivation to make the trip.

There was only 70D no 70P. 70D was only available in mint sets, so finding from circulation would be rare. It can be bought for about $15.

How often do you get foreign currency in 1/2 dollar rolls. I received a batch with one foreign currency coin in every other roll. I complained to the bank they apologized and said that they would refund me for the foreign currency.

I've never gotten a foreign currency piece in half rolls. And I've gone through 10s of thousands of halves. Are you close to the Canadian or Mexican border?

mycrob... They are from all over the world. Most are from the early 60s. All are the size of a 50 cent piece. One was a 1916 English One Penny.
They are located in aprox the same location in the roll and only one per roll. I think they were intentionally placed in the rolls. Every other roll.
We do have a fair amount of Mexican workers in our area but that would only account for two rolls. The majority of the coins are copper coins from Europe.
One bank had about $500 worth of rolls the guy returned.

Half way through my first box of halves ever! Zippo! :( No beginners luck so far.
I was hoping someboday could through a quick list for me to jot down of what to keep and look for. I have them all sorted by decade and dont want to toss them until I know what to look for! I'll post my stats when I'm done with the last half.
So hopefully someone can help me out. I dont know halves very well besides the silver years. Cant rally pinpoint the key dates throughout this thread :( Thanks.
