Hello I am new to this forum and was wondering if someone could help me. My inlaws gave me some old coins to sell which included quite a few Canadian large and small pennies. Included in this were 9 1916 large cent coins with one of them being made of white metal. I have been searching around for info on this and was wondering if anyone had any info on this. I have included scans of front and back of all 9 coins. Thanks! Susan

I would think (Electronic Silver dipped) which puts a coating over the coin
Plus nice 1916's keep them until you know more about the coins.
Cheers Don

Vickies cents and GB Farthings nut.
"Old" is a figure of speech and nothing more

If I zoom in I think I can see some red on popping out above the X on the obverse

Thanks all for the quick replies and kind welcome. I shall pull that one coin out and give it to my kids as a keepsake. Thanks again!

Back in the day some folks use to coat the copper cents with mercury. If this is the case I would keep it sealed perhaps until you can have it checked out.
