VAMs 16, 20 and 28 share this reverse. VAM 28 looks to be the one. V16 has a doubled RIB of E PLURIBUS. Your coin doesn't look like the II15 Obverse of the V20. So thinking the 28 . Confirmation at VAMWorld.com http://www.vamworld.com/1878-S+VAM-28
Your welcome. On very early VAM 20 coins this chip in non existent. And it doesn't have the large gouge in the right wing on V20 . I have only seen a few coins without the chip.
